What Is the Commitment Level?

After tryouts, we offer players a place within our program for a year. The commitment we make to the player is for two seasons (Fall and Spring), the expectation is that the player is committed to the program for the same time. Our expectation is that you commit to the team and attend 75% of team activities over the year. Without regular attendance, players cannot expect to up their development. We see players development increase gradually over the year as they become familiar with the training and program.

When Is the Season?

The club program provides the players with an opportunity to participate in soccer year-round. We do encourage breaks and “down time” so our youth players can rest. Typically the season is broken into two, Fall and Spring. In preparation for the Fall league, teams will begin training early-mid July and practicing up to Thanksgiving week. Our teams return early February for the Spring league play with the soccer season concluding at the end of May.

What Are the Playing Time Expectations?

Playing time is extremely important for all players in order for them to develop and improve. In order to achieve this, players need to be committed by attending practices and team events. A player who attends practices and games is guaranteed a minimum of 50% playing time in every match they attend.

Where Do We Play Our Games?

Our home games are played at either Sunnyvale Middle School or San Antonio Park. Each team will play up to 10 league games in each season (Fall and Spring), up to half of the games will be played at a local field within the club. The other games will be played at the home field of the other team and that is dependent on your league division. Most teams will travel within or the next county over. The locations will not be determined until after the divisions of play have been finalized. Games may be played on Saturdays or Sundays. Tournament weekends have Saturday and Sunday play.

What Is included in the Cost?

AYSO United Silicon Valley fees cover the full year (fall and spring league play), include all National and Local player fees, fields, referees, training within the seasons, coaching education and tournaments in both the fall and spring seasons. Fees for the upcoming year will be finalized by Spring tryouts each year.

Uniforms are purchased separately from the fees when a player joins the program.

With the exception of team social events, and personal travel expenses to games and tournaments, the fees are all-inclusive.
